Group Therapy

As a Gestalt therapist trained by the Appalachian Gestalt Therapy Institute (AGTI), I bring a unique approach to group therapy. I focus on the ‘here and now,’ allowing each individual to acknowledge their current feelings and actions. The group setting becomes lively and engaging, often filled with humor and playfulness, as we all delve into our processes. It’s a space where you can be curious about yourself and others, leading to more empowered and enjoyable decisions in your life. Think of the group as a laboratory to experiment with various behaviors and approaches that may feel risky in your day to day life.

Family Therapy

Family dynamics can deeply influence our mental health, and acknowledging this is crucial. In our family therapy sessions, we’ll work on recognizing our feelings and actions in the ‘here and now.’ I bring a warm, humorous, and playful approach to these sessions, creating an environment where every family member feels comfortable expressing themselves. Through this process, we can strengthen family bonds and improve communication, fostering a healthier family dynamic.

Individual Therapy

My individual therapy sessions are a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. We focus on the ‘here and now,’ allowing you to acknowledge your feelings and actions in the present moment. I strive to create a dynamic, spontaneous, and engaging environment filled with warmth and humor. It’s a space where you can explore your process, develop your curiosity, and start enjoying yourself more. I place a high value on the therapeutic relationship and believe in its power to facilitate meaningful change. It’s a marker of trust when you’re able to express your feelings, especially any anger or frustration towards me. This process is for those who are ready to take responsibility for their actions and make more empowered decisions in their lives.

Couples Therapy

As a couples therapist, my approach is grounded in the principles of Gestalt Therapy, focusing on the ‘here and now’ to help couples acknowledge their feelings and actions in the present moment. I strive to create a lively, engaging, and playful environment where both partners feel comfortable expressing themselves. Our sessions are a space for exploration and curiosity, allowing you to delve into your relationship dynamics and patterns. It’s a place to experiment with new ways of interacting that may feel risky or unfamiliar in your day-to-day life. This process is about taking responsibility for your actions, making more empowered decisions, and fostering a relationship built on mutual respect, understanding, and open communication. My aim is to help you strengthen your bond and improve your communication skills, leading to a healthier, more fulfilling relationship. Remember, this journey is not one you have to traverse alone – I’m here to guide, support, and facilitate meaningful change every step of the way.

Parent Coaching

With over a decade of experience working with adolescent boys and their parents in various treatment settings, I bring a wealth of knowledge, and understanding to my role as a Parent Coach, making me well-equipped to guide and support parents through their unique challenges and struggles. I specialize in working with parents of adolescent boys who are grappling with parenting challenges and power struggles. I bring my warm, humorous, and playful approach to this role, creating a safe and engaging environment for parents to explore their struggles and successes. We focus on the ‘here and now,’ allowing you to acknowledge your current feelings and actions in relation to your son. I believe in the power of the relationship between parent and child, and together we’ll work to understand and navigate this dynamic. This process is about taking responsibility for your actions and learning to make more empowered decisions in your parenting journey. It’s about fostering a relationship with your son that is built on mutual respect, understanding, and open communication. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey – I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.
